Knitting Workshop
Fridays Time: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 pm $10.00
per session + material (own material
welcome)
The workshop covers
all level all the basics you
need to start your own projects. We will talk about yarn
basics, cast on, cast off, garter stitch, stocking stitch,
ribbing, increase stitches and decrease stitches.

The first project
in this class is a drop stitch
scarf which knits up quickly and
gives a beginner the necessary
success to continue and tackle the
next steps. I used alpaca yarn from
our fibre studio for my scarf but
you own material is certainly
welcome.
|
The
second project is a
wash cloth / dish cloth to practice
increase and decrease stitches. I
used mohair yarn and am quite
pleased about the feel of this
rougher yarn for my wash cloth. Of
course your own material is welcome.
To make a dish cloth I actually
recommend a cotton yarn.

|
The third project
will be your choice also I will
insist that it includes purl
stitches, as we will still have to
explore and practice this basic
stitch.

|
The workshop is based on individual
projects. Besides your own project we will explore other
knitting techniques, different stitch patterns, socks
(heels!) etc. based on requests of the group. The topics
will be contained within one session.
The workshop is offered as packages of 8 sessions.
However, the sessions don’t have to be taken weekly,
meaning you can use your sessions every other week or any
other way it will work for you.

Thrum
mittens, a pattern from New
Foundland is one of my most popular
articles in the outlet store. This
might be your next project and I can
show you how to make the thrums nice
and tight. I do have my own pattern
and have all the material available
at the store. But your own material,
mix and match is certainly welcome.
